This review is from: Jean Wilson's Soumak Workbook (Paperback)
Soumak is a very ancient weaving technique consisting of variuos ways of wraping the warp with the weft. It is slow, but enables the creation of single points of color which are more akin to pixels than standard tapestry weaving. The technique is known and referenced in several publictions; however, this publication is, as far as I have been able to determine, the only publiction devoted solely to the technique. A specialist book with a few areas that I might disagree with, but by the time one is ready for this book one knows about the technique and its limits.
