This book is not a step by step guide to balancing your diet. It focuses on giving background information on all of the nutrients that a person needs, as well as detailed information on deficiencies and excesses of many body-building elements. It goes into great detail and gives lists of foods that are high in important nutrients. A great reference and general knowledge book.

Even if you are not dieting, it is an essential book to learn about the vitamin, minerals, foods that benefit your personal situation. I just wished it went deeper into each topic and was not so short. Definite quick read and valuable reference.

This is an insight into how the body works naturally to keep us healthy, but it is written so the lay person can follow easily. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a way to better their way of life and change their living and eating habits. After only a few weeks of implementing some of the recommendations in the book I can feel a slight change occurring within me for the better. Dr. Jensen has several other books that I since have purchased and read and highly recommend them all.
