Jesus Camp follows a group of children to Pastor Becky Fischer`s "Kids on Fire Summer Camp", where kids are taught to become dedicated Christian soldiers in God`s army and are schooled in how to take back America for Christ. 3.0 out of 5 stars a view inside evangelical churches July 16 2008
This should be useful for those who know someone in one of these churches or is curious about what they do.

I grew up on a household with an pentecostal mother and can relate to some of the stupidity and narrowmindedness of what they teach. This film however did not touch on some of the other topics they get into such as prosperity teaching and gays.

It is interesting to see how all the churches fall in line with everything from politics to eating holisitic or organic foods. My family is Canadian and also believe that George Bush is the anointed one. This is coming from the same people that can't tell you what the name of some of our Canadian political party leaders are. I am not sure what they think now that George is on his way out, in the midst of a failing war and the country's economy is in disarray. There will always be someone else to follow.

It is interesting also to note that the Pastor Ted Haggard (featured in the film) has since stepped down due to being caught with cocaine and a male prostitute.

I don't necessarily disagree with some of the issues like abortion but I do see how all the people in these churches are lead around like drones and don't question anything, my family included.
It will be added to my library so I can show people what I grew up with and what the "charismanic" children are exposed to.

After hearing the world is ending while I was growing up in the 70's, I am curious to see what comes of these children and children like my neices and nephews when they discover that the world didn't end and they wasted their lives not persuing what God has really created for them.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Must See Mar 8 2007
By Byrd
Everyone should know about this great change in America. Thousands upon thousands of Americans are quickly turning to Christ through Evangelical churches or camps and sometimes that can be a dangerous thing.

This documentary left me moved and deeply thoughtful about what our world is coming to.

Watch the film and form your own opinion, but whatever you do, mostly definitely watch it!

I like this DVD because it reveals why the "Christian Right" is so controversial, and why not even all Christians approve of it. Although I am a conservative Christian myself, I have mixed feelings about the "Christian Right". While I strongly agree with this movement for being against abortion, pornography, and promiscuity, and for being pro-family, I wish that they were also more concerned about such things as greed, the wasteful use of our resources, and the toxins that we are putting into the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we eat. I find it very ironic that the same movement that is strongly against abortion is not showing much concern for the Western world's wasteful use of resources or its abuse of the environment! When I think about it, I wonder this: If abortions were to end tomorrow, but we continued to pollute our environment, urban sprawl continued to keep eating away more and more land, and the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the food we ate continued to become more and more toxic, what quality of life will all the babies we would save have when they are adults? And how healthy will they be when they are adults?
