Product Description

Book Description

There was a time when only athletes had coaches. Now, everyone from CEOs to at-risk youth are being coached. The International Coaching Federation-which began with only a handful of people-now boasts membership of over 5,000, and currently more than 150,000 people call themselves Life Coaches. The benefits of coaching have been well documented, but having the right coach is critical.

Jesus had only three years to train the twelve disciples, yet in that time he managed to turn this ragamuffin group into lean, clean marketing machines. Divided into four critical sections-Focus, Balance, Productivity, and Fulfillment-Jesus, Life Coach presents a faith-based coaching program with Jesus as the model. Delving into the principles Jesus used to transform those around him, the book offers proven strategies and countless applications for modern-day coaches.

4.0 out of 5 stars Devotional Book For Christian Career Women, May 10 2005
By Todd Hudnall - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Hardcover)
The value of "Jesus, Life Coach" all depends on what you're looking for. If you are a career woman looking for a devotional book full of interesting stories and practical life application you are going to be thrilled with this one.

If you are searching for a guidebook to assist you in coaching people or nuts and bolts instruction on life skills development, you are going to be very disappointed.

I was looking for the later but have based my rating on the former. Laurie Beth Jones proves to be a very good devotional writer for today's Christian career woman.

3.0 out of 5 stars not what i expected, Oct 30 2004
By A. erselius "(<wife of)" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Hardcover)
When I heard the ad for this book on the radio I rushed right out and bought it (I NEVER do this!), not even looking inside first. I thought it would be about how to figure out what to do with one's life, career wise; sort of a Christian "What Color Is Your Parachute?"

It's not. It reads like a daily devotional book. It's a fine devotional book too, but the title is wrong and misleading.

Furthermore, I had a bit of trouble relating to the author who seemed to be all business-woman whereas I've been a stay at home Mom for 18 years.

Because she was talking about the intimacy of life choices I would expect her to share a bit about why she never married. This was not the case.

IN sum, this book would be a nice gift for a seriously single working woman who needs a daily devotional.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book encourages Thinking - Questioning - Asking Tough Questions - That's Coaching!, Nov 18 2005
By Jeffrey Elmore "Jeff" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Jesus, Life Coach: Learn from the Best (Hardcover)
I really enjoyed the book - read it through once underlined points to remember. Now I am going back and reading again the highlights. I like it even better, the second time through. Miss Jones' writing show passion. A man or woman, anybody who acts on the truths in this book will see change. That's what Coaching is about, Forward Change, not dwelling on the past, but learning, not dwelling in it. I am a man and enjoyed it greatly.
