About the Author
Oppi Untracht's interest in crafts began in the 1930s and developed with Fine Arts degrees from New York University and Columbia. Metalwork, enamelling and jewellery are his special interests, and he has both taught and exhibited internationally in these mediums. He has written numerous articles for Graphis, Craft Horizons, American Craft and Colliers Encyclopedia, and is the author of Metal Techniques for Craftsmen, also published by Robert Hale.

D'abord séduite par la table des matières très détaillée, j'ai commandé ce livre. Je peux maintenant affirmer qu'il dépasse mes attentes, contrairement aux livres plus contemporains. Un peu comme les livres de recettes de grands chefs, les auteurs contemporains sont avares de certains détails qui sont pourtant la clé du succès de leur technique.
Dans ce livre-ci, tous les sujets sont couverts de manière exhaustive; ils sont accompagnés de photos, de tables, de dessins, etc. Enfin, l'index de 33 pages est impeccable : il permet vraiment de localiser toutes les pages où un sujet est traité. Impossible de ne pas trouver ce qu'on cherche. Que demander de plus?

I had been told by many people how great it was, but not until I had a copy in my own hand did I realize how much is covered, how easy it is to follow the techniques, and how grateful I am to have it.
