About the Author

Phoebe Gillman was one of Canada's best-loved children's author/illustrators. She wrote and illustrated such classics as Something for Nothing, The Gypsy Princess and the Jillian Jiggs series. Phoebe lived in New York, Europe and Israel and worked as an artist and teacher before settling down in Toronto, Ontario. She passed away in 2002.

All of the Jillian Jiggs series are great. The rhyming is clever, the pace and rhythm of the story is perfect and the fundamentals of using your imagination, caring for your siblings and general goofiness are all things a parent should want to read before bed to their children.

This book is well written. It's catchy in its rhymes and the pictures are bright and amazing. To me, it is not as good as the original Jillian Jiggs, but still very very good and a fun read for beginners. My niece loves it.
