Guitarists will love this!,

This review is from: Joe Bonamassa: Live at Rockpalast (DVD)
Joe Bonamassa is a guitar prodigy who toured with B.B. King at the age of eleven. Still in his 20's, this has to be the hottest blues guitartist since SRV. Great to see the feeling and emotion he puts into his songs and if it isn't the blues, this lad knows how to rock.....and rock hard. Pretty impressive stuff and a great introduction to Joe, if you have never heard of him before. His band only consists of drummer and bass player. The base player is a real trip, but man is he good. The drummer is more than adequate. I came very close to giving this a 5 out of 5, but there are a couple of laid back tunes which are not to my taste. You will not be wasting your money with this DVD.

5 star music 4 star photography,
This review is from: Joe Bonamassa: Live at Rockpalast (DVD)
The reason I gave it four stars is not because of Joe's guitar pyrotechnics which are amazing. But simply because of the odd 'artsy' photography that makes you kind of seasick as it moves too swiftly between band members giving them all equal face time but ruining the flow of the show. It would have been far better had they stuck to more Joe and less of everyone else (even though this is a bass players dream DVD with close up shots of one of the best bass players since Jack Bruce). I am glad I own it and would never let it go. Joe on a strat is a wonder to behold.

Another one of those things that makes me go Hmmmm.... WHY is Joe Bonamassa not a house hold name I ask??If you like live music and an amazing three piece band and rock and blues this is for you.Very reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughn and double trouble, not the music as much as the tight band. This is a must have for any music lover especially if you like Gary Moore and Stevie Ray etc.
