I have to slice alot of mushrooms for the salad bar I work for, so I thought this would be a great idea. I was disappointed because when I slice the mushroom it don't slice all the way through the mushroom all the time and it squashes the ends of the bigger mushrooms. Also I sometimes get my finger pinched in it. I like the idea, but it is hard to use. It's better than a egg slicer and is strong and well made. Maybe a different design would be better?

The blades were so flimsy that they warped apart on every mushroom. This meant that the blades couldn't fit into the grooves that are supposed to push the slices out of the device. Just about every slice has to be dug out of the device individually with a knife or fork. At least as much work as slicing the mushrooms by hand with a knife.

The box said that this item was dishwasher safe. I washed it on the top rack of the dishwasher before I used it, and it melted so that it will not close. I did not even get to use it once, and it is useless. The store that I bought it from would not even exchange it or refund my money! NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!
