5.0 out of 5 stars Characters by Susan Kearney always seem to take on a life of their own., Nov 24 2009

(TOP 100 REVIEWER)    (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Jordan (Mass Market Paperback)
Vivianne Blackstone's latest project is a spaceship, Draco, designed to protect Earth from the deadly Tribes. The Tribes seek to destroy all who resist them in the Milky Way Galaxy and then expand their domination into the other galaxies. When Vivianne confronts her new engineer, Jordan McArthur, about his fake résumé, he unexpectedly launches the Draco to begin his urgent quest. Vivianne, a small group made up of those working on Draco at the time, and a small dog are shot into space.

Jordan's past goes back far, even to the time of King Arthur Pendragon (who knew Jordan by the name of Merlin). Trendonis of the Tribes destroyed Jordan's world centuries ago and Jordan will not rest until the Tribe has been eliminated. Jordan's Ancient Staff powers the Draco, but unless he and his drafted crew manage to locate the three Keys of Space, Wind, and Soil, all will be lost. The Keys would bring the Staff to full power. Once the fully powered Staff is united with the Holy Grail, it would become something new and the Tribes would fall.

Passion flares between Vivianne and Jordan, yet neither can allow themselves to love the other, because their success would also mean Jordan's death.

***** FIVE STARS! This is the third and final story of the Pendragon Legacy. Though I am excited about finally knowing how it all turns out, I am also sad to see the trilogy end. Characters by Susan Kearney always seem to take on a life of their own. Vivianne and Jordan are no exception. The story did not simply reel me in and let me see their story in my mind's eye. Instead, it felt as if they transported me into their dimension and I was beside them every step of the way. The real world ceased to exist for me. Now THAT is writing talent! I can hardly wait to see what wonders Susan Kearney has in store for me next! *****

4.0 out of 5 stars A Great Futuristic Paranormal Romance, Feb 25 2010
By Donna - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Jordan (Mass Market Paperback)
Vivianne Blackstone brought herself up from having nothing to becoming the CEO and owner of a billion dollar business, Vesta Corporation. Vesta Corporation is now in the public eye while it builds the spaceship Draco, which is the one hope Earth has against being conquered by the terrifying Tribes. Jordan McArthur, who had fought against the Tribes the first time they tried to conquer Earth, has secured a position as one of the lead engineers building Draco. Information has come to Vivianne's attention that puts suspicion on Jordan as a possible member of the Tribe.

Jordan has to find an ancient artifact, the only thing capable of saving the galaxies from the Tribes. To do this Jordan launches the Draco prematurely with Vivianne and a handful of engineers on board, to search for the artifact. In prematurely launching the Draco Jordan has only heightened Vivianne's suspicions of him plus Jordan's secretive nature doesn't help Vivianne's opinion of him either.

I know just enough about the tale of King Arthur and the knights of the round table, that Kearney's intergalactic twist on the this old legend was a very entertaining and fast read. Jordan had just the right combination of adventure, mystery and romance. The romance between Jordan and Vivianne was absolutely believable; Vivianne doubted and believed in Jordan at the same places I did as I read. Jordan was steadfast, brave and loyal; all qualities that I admired in hero. And the passion between these two was red hot from the get go.

I especially enjoyed the secondary characters of engineers; they were just geeky enough that the geek girl in me got a real kick out of several scenes in the book with these inexperienced space travelers.

One thing that really caught my attentions were the quotes at the beginning of each chapter from various book characters plus a few outside ones. These quotes were hints to the oncoming chapter. Here are two non-spoiler quotes that resonant with life in general:

"If you love someone, you'd give up everything for them. But if they love you, they won't ask you to." - Lady Guinevere

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away." - George Carlin

Jordan was an exciting and satisfying conclusion to the Pendragon Legacy trilogy. For me all ends were tied and I was very satisfied with the ending. While each book in this trilogy can be read as a stand alone, I think to get the full enjoyment out this trilogy you should try giving all the books a go.

5.0 out of 5 stars 5 Hearts from The Romance Studio!, April 6 2010
By Tina Pavlik "Tina" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Jordan (Mass Market Paperback)
When reading the third book in a series, what do readers expect? A continuance of a previous story line, but with different characters and a new and exciting twist? That's exactly what you get with this book. You get two more wonderful characters continuing the course of stopping the Tribes from taking over Earth, and even more fantastic support characters. Jordan's character is full of surprises. Fans of the tales of Camelot, King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, will find Jordan and this adventure absolutely fascinating. Even if you are not a fan of King Arthur and his knights, Jordan and Viviannes' characters are flawless. This story is one adventure you won't want to miss. Fast-paced and action-packed, the reader is not given a moment to slow down and breath. Add to that some very explosive love scenes and there is not a dull moment to be found. The sex scenes are scorching hot and sure to raise the reader's temperature. Be sure to have a nice cool drink ready when reading this book. Jordan is one amazing book that has it all. If you enjoy books filled with phenomenal characters, enough action to keep you on your toes and sizzling hot sex scenes, this is one book you won't want to miss. - Jacquelyn R. Ward

2.0 out of 5 stars A bitter ending to this trilogy, Feb 28 2010
By Cheryl Koch - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Jordan (Mass Market Paperback)
Vivianne Blackstone is captain of a space craft. Jordan is part of the crew. Their mission is to save the planet, Earth. While that is their mission, the crew wasn't totally prepared to deal with the enemy. This will be the battle to end all battles.

Jordan is the last book in the Pendragon Legacy trilogy. I have enjoyed this trilogy. The way that Susan Kearney connected the men to King Arthur was interesting. These books can be read as stand alone novels. The story line for this book was good. It was the chemistry that I would somewhat lacking between Vivianne and Jordan. When they would get together it was rushed. I was bummed that this book ended on a low note. At this is book tied up the trilogy. I still do enjoy Susan Kearney books and will read more books by her again.
