Liked the idea of not putting it on the counter but it still dripped liquid on anyway. When left in the pot the green handle melted where it touched the side of the pot. The shape is good and the grey portion is heat resistant which is good.

I bought this spoon because I needed a slotted spoon, and the promise that you could put it on the counter without a spoon rest sold me on this particular vendor/spoon!
The spoon itself works great. One of the best "slotted" spoons I've ever used. The spoon is "deep", so you can actually scoop out something instead of "cradling" something like I've had to do with other flatter spoons that seem so standard.
The thing about not needing a spoon rest? Whatever I use, there is still stuff on the spoon that drips on the counter anyway after I use the spoon. So what if the spoon itself doesn't touch the counter? It looks like it did anyway with the dripping. Also, to keep the spoon from resting on the counter, the handle is heavily weighted. Makes sense. However, it took some getting used to as "resting" the spoon even slightly in a pan can cause the spoon to flip overboard; it is designed too well -- the spoon doesn't want to rest on the spoon, even if you want it to inside the pot!
Overall, recommend because it is a great slotted spoon. However, forget the gimmick of it being elevated! Fun concept, but not really effective in keeping a counter clean. You still need a spoon rest to catch the drips.

I love this! Because it is smaller than a lot of slotted spoons, it's very handy for cooking items like meatballs or other food that needs to be turned in a small, crowded pan space. Got it yesterday and have used it for two meals already. Comfortable to hold, easy to clean and the elevate part is a nice touch. My husband even commented that he liked it when he was washing it after dinner. I'm getting more Joseph Joseph stuff!

I got the complete set of these elevate utensils and have given sets to my three daughters for gifts. They are the perfect size and weight and are the only ones I ever reach for. I use this spoon so much I ordered a second one for the days when one is in the dishwasher. They don't scratch your pots, don't make a mess on the counter and feel great in your hand. If they were any better, they would stir the food by themselves!
