Book Description

Dec 31 1999 Ashes Series (Book 24)
To millions, Simon Border is a saint who has the inside track to God. But to Ben Raines, Border is a dangerous hypocrite with an army of true believers who'll do anything they're ordered to do--like wage a holy war against Raines and the SUSA Rebels. Border has condemned Raines as the Antichrist and has vowed to destroy him, his followers, and what remains of America. As the rabid religious leader puts into place the final piece of a chilling plan, Raines is going to need a miracle to stop him--and survive.

2.0 out of 5 stars Largely Forgettable April 27 1998
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I was so disappointed in this book. The charactors are too perfect and have no depth whatsoever. There are no weaknesses to overcome for the good guys and the plot isn't challanging to the reader. It is predictable and promotes every plot/stereotype imaginable. I love post-apocalyptic books that use imagination and honest adult spit fire. This trite piece of work fizzles!

As usual, great book by Johnstone. The only reason I rated it 3 stars and not 5 was the errors in transcription, numerous spelling and word placement errors. Who ever was doing the proof reading erred grevio

I've enjoyed all the books in the Ashes series I got a chance to talk to the author years ago. He has an agenda he wants people to take responsibility for there own lives. He is telling a story to get this point across if your a die hard democrat you will not relate to this series

If you like this type of "guys adventure" book, you'll enjoy this. It turned into a speed read as I finished it in one 12 hour shift at work.
