2.0 out of 5 stars review: not enough stars available May 17 2009
By Edy Lou Benjamin - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
To Sci Fi buffs, no other comment need be written besides the names and publications that have endorsed this new collection of T. Jackson King's short stories: Asimov's Science Fiction, Analog Science Fiction and Fact, The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction, David Brin and Roger Zelazny, to name a few.

To the casual reader of Sci Fi (of which I am one), I found the "pure science" sections easy enough to follow to gain a little insight into the technicalities of it - enough not to be a distraction from these delightful 15 short stories. I found myself also captivated by the brilliance of the mind that wrote them.

Not being a writer myself, I believe I would serve any perspective reader by presenting them with some of Mr. King's own words, in his forward:

"...sometimes, we write of dreams that contain madness and horror that are more real than today's truth, for the very fact that their unreality catches the core essence of what we all fear."

"...it falls to the writer to dream, a shaman's dream."

Of the stories themselves he says, "...they are all dreams that wanted to be real."

My suggestion to all potential readers: Put a little amazement in your life - buy this book!
