About the Author

Gill Jagger is a lecturer in the department of Social Sciences at the University of Hull. Her research interests include poststructuralist theory and gender, sexual difference and the body and she has published in these areas. She co-edited Changing Family Values (Routledge, 1999).

I bought this book as a companion to my studies of Judith Butler. It is a brief overview of Butler's writings and is a relief to Butler's sometimes challenging prose. I would recommend this book as an adjunct, but not a substitute for reading Butler, which is not to be missed.
