Not learning much,

There are dozens of books on Judy Garland, a few of them are good, most are bad. The bad ones mostly win over the good ones because people want sensationalism. It's a big injustice to Judy and most of it comes from people who claim to be her fans, if they were real fans they would know the truth. People who give constant praise to men like Gerald Clarke, Mel Torme and David Shipman are being very unfair to Judy. Those men had no right to do what they did to her. Is it so impossible to uncover that Judy was in fact a decent woman?.In any case this book will not help matters either, Edwards gets most of the dates wrong and other bits have been proven wrong in other (reliable) sources. It makes you wonder if Edwards was really writing about Judy Garland in the first place.

i did not get it yet but i will next week i hpoe it is good if anyone out there who likes judy who is 12 i do and i don,t think there are many 12 tear old,s who like judy

good but....,

I thought this book was very good. I'm not entirely sure however what to think of the book.After reading this I was VERY upset and cried several times because of what was said. It isn't the authors fault and her comments because they were fine, it was just what happened to Judy in life. I don't think the book tells the whole truth because (for e.g.) Anne Edwards says that L.B.Mayer treated Judy literally like rubbish. Throwing her around wherever the hell he pleased BUT in Lorna Luft's Me and My shadows Lorna says that Judy loved Mayer dearly and never once complained about him and that he loved her. I don't know who to believe but I am leaning towards Lorna's version. Although this book doesn't have all the facts it is clear to see that Anne Edwards did do a lot of research before writing this but maybe didn't talk to all the right people. Anne seems to be a fan of Judys and I do recommend this book to anyone who loves Judy as much as me. Anne seems genuine with her love to Judy and so it isn't like Sheridan Morley with his book Over The Rainbow. May you rest in piece Miss Judy Garland!
