A pleasure!, Sep 30 2008

What a pleasure to read the entire story of Julie in one hardcover book. ABSOLUTELY worth the money! You should know, however, that the historal sections at the end of each of the original six books are NOT included. There is one large section on the history, but by no means as comprehensive as the six sections found in the entire series. Still worth buying...Now I have all of these new HC books AND the six book series! :-)

My 9 year old loves these stories, it was great to have it on Christmas with the Julie doll. She read them in one day; it is easy reading for a 3rd grader, but interesting and the right age level.

Meet Julie Albright 1974, Sep 19 2010
By K. Alphs - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Julie Story Collection (Hardcover)
"Julie's Story Collection" is the story of Julie Albright, a ten year old living in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco in the year 1974. Through Julie's eyes the reader is able to experience the historical/cultural events of 1974: Watergate, President Nixon's resignation, the Vietnam War, equal rights for women, divorce, save the eagles, Earth Day, The Bicentennial of 1976, the Carter-Ford election and disability awareness. Megan McDonald has done an excellant job of capturing the essence of the time period in her story telling. The only negative comment I have is that American Girl did not publish a "Welcome to Julie's World 1974" as they had done with previous American Girl historical figures. Instead American Girl published "Julie Just for Fun and Julie's Cooking Studio."
