This particular mix of Jump N Shout isn't my favorite; I absolutely love the song, but the way it's done on THE ALBUM, that's the best form for it; I hate club-like radio edits. When something is better than the mold, why ruin it by trying cutting its corners and making it fit?
Track 2 is very fun, very creative, and all around unique and enjoyable.
It's track 3 that really gets my fancy. The vocal samples here, screams and alien-sounding-gun-things, all handled with the usual jaxx ever-changing-and-progressive way, immediately got my attention. The repetitive 'groove/beat' is a bit non-traditional jaxx, but this song, overall, by itself, is worth ten times more than the cost of the disc.
Fun stuff!
Some of Basement Jaxx's best Dec 25 2005

I'm not a particularly huge Basement Jaxx fan, but I do like this album. My only complaint about it would be that they shouldn't have used a radio edit of Jump N' Shout, the album version is better. They cut out the best parts! If anything, they should have made an extended mix and put it on here, then I could give this five stars. "La Photo" and "I Beg You" are good songs too. "I Beg You" acutally reminds me a little bit of "Bingo Bango" from Basement Jaxx's Remedy. If you liked that album, you should like this too.

Jump N' Shout by itself is a fine song, a Jah-ragga infused piece of house. But what makes this single stand out are the B-sides. "La Photo," which features vocals from Dimitri From Paris, has a bit of the French vibe to it, but with the unmistakable Basement Jaxx touch: heavy bass line, samples thrown in here and there, and a funky, anything-goes attitude. "I Beg U" follows the same structure as "Bingo Bango" by with a more Caribbean feel, rather than Latin. Worth checking out for "La Photo" alone.
