Michael Kaeshammer’s his first live concert CD/DVD, KAESHAMMERLIVE! was recorded in Toronto at The Great Hall on December 13, 2010 in high definition and mixed in 5.1 surround sound. The DVD is accompanied by a five-song audio CD. KAESHAMMERLIVE! Is a fantastic live showcase for his eight-piece band in a truly intimate and unique setting, an unprecedented performance in the round! It assembles material mostly from Kaeshammer's three Alert Music studio recordings including last year's release, KAESHAMMER, Lovelight and his first, Days Like These. Extensively touring in 2010 and 2011, Kaeshammer performed across the United States, including headlining performances at key festivals such as Telluride and the Tanglewood Jazz Festival, a successful two-week tour of China, a performance at the opening night of the Special Olympics in Vancouver and multiple Canadian dates, culminating in his first headline performance at Toronto's legendary Massey Hall.
About the Artist
A piano playing jazz prodigy and recording artist since his teenage years, the German born, Canadian bred musician has a long list of accomplishments and awards. These include a 2002 West Coast Music Award in both the Musician of the Year and Performer of the Year categories, and multiple JUNO Award nominations including one from his acclaimed 2009 album, Lovelight.

Great cd DVD combo. A very good concert from Michael Kaeshammer. If you don't know him this is a great way to get yourself acquainted with him. He is like a super talented mix between Michael Buble and Harry Connick Jr. He is just great.

I want to be in his band!

When I first saw this kid (ok, he's not a kid any more, but still) he'd barely say boo to a goose. He had the goods, muscially, no question, but he hadn't come into his own as a performer. My how he's grown! Not only is he one of the best boogie-woogie/stride/jazz piano players in the world, he's also a hugely entertaining stage performer. He owns his music, he obviously respects and is respected by his band mates, and he puts on a show. I still prefer his piano playing over his vocals, but his vocals have improved too -- and I think are indicative of how his confidence has grown. This is one performance DVD that will make you jealous you weren't in the audience to see it live.
