2.0 out of 5 stars TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY - SAME CONTENT AS IN EDITION 4 & 5 Oct. 1 2013
By Medicoholic - Published on Amazon.com
How can any book receive 13 Positive Ratings , even though it is released today ?

And what does new edition means ? 1.5 years ago i bought kap. edition 4 (2009), then 6 month ago i bought kap. edition 5 (2011) , and now i bought this edition 6 (2013) - and you know what makes them different ? 1 word change - from - fourth --> Fifth --> Sixth , otherwise - not a single alphabet - "A" has been change . Even number of Pages same.

I had just look the content , Questions & Page numbers of this 6th edition , but , i will tell you more if i find out any word been changed in this book.

In short i want to say , don't waste money on this book if you have access to 4th or 5th edition. Save Trees :-D if you don't have then please buy it , Q&A are very good.
No offense to any fan of kaplan like me .

4.0 out of 5 stars Step 1 Q-book Sept. 16 2012

Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
So far so good. I'm not at the point of taking the USMLE yet, but I have found that the sections are closely correlated with exam questions for my classes. The biochem section, for instance, is great practice for my Biochem and Genetics exams. I have used Kaplan materials for other things and have never gone wrong. Kaplan, in my opinion, remains the gold standard in test prep. There is no doubt in my mind that this book will have benefits beyond my current classes.

3.0 out of 5 stars No Neurophysiology questions Nov. 27 2013

Don't look for neurophysiology questions here. There were maybe 5 in the whole book. Anatomy, cardio and respiratory seem well covered.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent book Oct. 12 2012

Great practice questions. If you know the answers to these, you should pass USMLE 1. Applicable questions with explained answers. Helps to identify weak points as well, so you know where to study.
2.0 out of 5 stars NOT effective for Step 1 style questions, OK for basic review July 3 2014
By Lauren - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
The questions in this book are fine for reviewing content, but don't kid yourself: the questions are not even close to "exam-style questions." This book might be helpful as extra review material as you go through your pre-clinical classes, but it's pretty useless for getting a good feel of the Step 1 exam. Save your money for the only gold-standard in Step 1 studying: USMLE World Qbank.
