This review is from: Katherine Jenkins: Believe Live from the O2 [Blu-ray] (DVD)
VIDEO:This Katherine Jenkins Believe concert arrived at blu ray with 1080i 1.78:1. This was filmed in 2010 at London's O2 arena, celebrating her album "Believe". The video was outstanding with fantastic details. The details of individual strands of her blonde hair reminded me of those blonde hair in the movie Tangled. On close-up, you can even count the number of her long eyelashes. The colours were very vibrant with very natural skin tone. The blacks were inky. (4.5/5) AUDIO: The DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 also sounded great, with very clear vocal. Different instruments were clearly defined. The orchestra was outstanding. The musicians, including violinists, celloist, pianist, guitarists all wore headset...very professional. (4/5) CONCERT: This was Katherine Jenkins's first UK solo arena tour. She took her live performance to a phenomenal new level. This show presented Katherine as singer, dancer, actress and circus performer across a range of music running from virtuoso classical pieces to standards, cabaret and musical theatre. She really reminded me of a young Sarah Brightman. Her singing was simply outstanding. Her rendition of Parla Piu Piano (Love Theme From The Godfather) was very moving. Her backup dancers were also top-notched. In the song Angel, one dancer dropped from the ceiling on two ropes. He was like an acrobat with great technique, and could join the Summer Olympics in London. With one hand, he grapped Katherine by the hand, and both waltzed up the sky. Katherine also showed that she could do some acrobat too. In her album Believe, she sang I Believe with Andrea Bocelli. In this concert, her partner was Amaury Vassili, who also sang another updated duet Endless Love. Katherine also told us that she was invited to Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber's house, and asked to sing the title song for his latest work, the follow-up to Phantom Of the Opera, called Love Never Dies, which she also performed in the concert. Sir Lloyd Webber certainly has great music sense and good taste. In her album Believe, Chris Botti was featured in the song La Califfa. In this concert, the replacement was Steve Sidwell, the musical director, who did a great job with the trumpet. The entire concert lasted 125 minutes, and it was totally enjoyable.(5/5) Song listing: Overture (from Bring Me To Life) Till There Was You (from Believe) I Believe (duet with Amaury Vassili) Parla Piu Piano (Love Theme From The Godfather)(from Believe) Angel (from Believe) Fear Of Falling (from Believe) La Vie En Rose (from Believe) Adagio (with John G. Smith)(Katherine loved Lara Fabian's version too) Love Never Dies Ancora Non Sai (with Escala)(from Believe) Se Si Perde Un Amore (from Believe) Prelude: Carmen Habanera (from Carmen) Seguidilla (from Carmen) Chanson Boheme (from Carmen) La Califfa (with Steve Sidwell)(from Believe) Endless Love (with Amaury Vassili) Who Wants To Live Forever (from Believe) Bring Me To Life (from Believe) Nella Fantasia (from The Ultimate Collection) SUMMARY: This concert has everything: great singing, dances with great music. Katherine Jenkins is very talented, young and beautiful, with fantastic vocal cords and a great future. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire concert. This disc is highly recommended. UPDATE: I notice that Katherine Jenkins is one of the contestants on Dancing With The Stars 2012. Having seen her perform on stage from this concert, I "BELIEVE" that she will go all the way to grab the mirror-ball trophy. Go, Katherine, Go!

We have waited a long time to buy a Katherine Jenkins live performance DVD and the wait was worth it. This Blu-Ray DVD is excellent and very well done. In Blu-Ray the set and her dresses are stunning. I would recommend this disc to anyone. We have all her CD's and wish she would tour Canada one day.
