Wake up pop/rock music lovers and listen to the wonderful harmonies and song writing of three guys from Austin, Texas!
My only peevs - I believe this CD should have been named "Perfect World" and the cover art should have been that atom bomb cover I saw on a fan web site. That rocked! Other then that...it can't get much better then this!
Long live Fastball! Keep the music coming!
It really pains mean to say this, but I checked out the album after reading so many great reviews for it, but it is really not a good album (in my opinion).
1 - Shortwave - Short and pointless. Doesn't grab me at all
2 - Louie Louie - Weak song, killed by the infantile chorus
3 - Drifting Away - Comes close to decent, then drops the ball
4 - Airstream - It SHOULD be called "Mainstream". So cliche
5 - I Get High - HOW is this 60's ?!!? It's A/C !!
6 - Perfect World - Aimless country song. Blah
7 - 'Til I Get it right - A flawed track, but the one good one
8 - Our Misunderstanding - Good vocal use, bad song use
9 - Someday - Good backwards part, un-noteworthy apart from that
10 - Mercenary Girl - Somewhat annoying "repeat" part annoys me
11 - Falling Upstairs - Best song on the album. Of the 2
12 - Red Light - "Cute". Mexican flavoured junk-track
All in all, a weak, effort. And before you all tear me apart, I genuinely like Fastball, I just feel this is a very subpar album. Don't just listen to me though, listen to it for yourself and tell me it's better than "Are you Ready for the Fallout ?" or "Vampires" or any of their other material. Sadly, it just doesn't stack up.
Everybody can find something they like from Fastball. Whether you like country or rock, you will like Fastball.
My favorites from Keep Your Wig On are: "Louie Louie", "I Get High", "Til I Get It Right", and "Falling Upstairs." But all of the songs are great.
I got the chance to see them live and for free, so my dad and I went. They were so good. The best live performers i've ever seen. They played songs from each album and a lot from Keep Your Wig On. If you ever have the chance to see them live, it's definetly worth it.
I think that each of their albums gets better and better and this is definetly true with Keep Your Wig on.
Fastball is awesome!
