4.0 out of 5 stars Another solid Kendra title Sep 11 2012
By Laura Oconnor - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I'm reading these novels to my almost-six-year old, one chapter per night before bed. The language can be a little beyond her vocab at times, but if she hears a word she doesn't know, we talk about it. I actually like this title the least in the series so far, because it deals with time travel and is a bit confusing at times, even for me. But in general we love the series and can't wait for the next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Throughly Delightful Nov 26 2012

I found Kendra Kandlestar and the Crack in Kazah to be a cross between Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Quees" and "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" with a little of "Harry Potter" thrown in. It was fun, imaginative and completely delightful. I can't wait to read it to my grandchildren. I know they'll love the books, especially the illustrations. Although evidently written for a younger group, I thoroughly enjoyed the adventures of Kendra and look forward to reading the rest of the books. I'm very surprised that I haven't heard of this series before now. It should be made required reading material for grades 4 or 5. Give the kids something to use their imagination on other than video games and movies. It deserves a higher grade than 5 stars but, what can you do. I'd recommend it to all those who are still young at heart and enjoy little things like magic, talking animals, adventure and believing in the impossible. It really enlarges your field of imagination.
