Kensington Expert Mouse Optical USB Trackball for PC or Mac,
This review is from: Kensington 64325 Expert Mouse Optical USB Trackball for PC or Mac (Personal Computers)
I have used Kensington trackballs for over twenty years; this is the fifth one I've owned and they keep getting better. They are ergonomically designed, easy to use after a day or two of practice and this model comes with a wrist rest. They are also highly reliable and versatile. I have never had problems with any of them. I still use the latest three I purchased, including this Expert Mouse, for three computers. The original two were older models; still working but lacking some features I wanted in the later models. The ability to program the function of the four buttons singly and as chords of two together is extremely useful. The scroll wheel works fairly well and is easy to use but is of marginal use to me since I usually forget to use it. The ability to program the speed and acceleration of the cursor movement on screen with speed of trackball movement is exceptionally useful on large monitors. A quick flip of two fingers on the trackball and the cursor moves from one side of the screen to the other, yet slow movement of the trackball gives slow movement of the cursor for fine control. The effect can be optimised to suit personal preferences. The only complaint I have is that Acco, which owns Kensington, tends to let the software (Mouseworks) for its trackballs lag behind advances in system software, especially on Macs. However, the software does work well at least as far as Mac system 10.4.11, which I use, and the Expert Mouse does have updated software (Trackballworks)Kensington Expert Mouse Optical USB Trackball for PC or Mac 64325. I don't understand why anyone would use a conventional mouse after they have tried a Kensington trackball, particularly the Expert Mouse. Trackballs take up a fixed amount of space which is smaller than a mouse pad or the space needed for mouse movement with a conventional mouse. I can speak only about Kensington trackballs because the only other type I tried was years ago and it did not have the smooth trackball action of the Kensington ones. The relatively high initial cost of the Expert Mouse compared to that of a conventional mouse may deter some from purchasing it. However, when one takes into consideration useability, functionality, convenience and reliability, the cost-effectiveness of the Expert Mouse exceeds that of a conventional mouse. I shopped around on the Internet for the Expert Mouse and Amazon.ca had the best deal; competitive price and free shipping. P.S.: I have no pecuniary interest in Acco, Kensington or Amazon.

Kensington Trackball Expert Mouse is Tops,
This review is from: Kensington 64325 Expert Mouse Optical USB Trackball for PC or Mac (Personal Computers)
This is my second Kensington trackball in a year - one for my 24" iMac, and another for my custom built desktop PC. My desk looks cluttered, but these trackballs really make both computers easy to use. Love them!
