Kermit, now a Hollywood star, returns to his childhood digs to recount a grand adventure from his years as a young tadpole with amphibious pals Goggles and Croaker. As narrator, Kermit takes viewers back in time to when the tadpole trio, on the brink of froghood, ventures outside the swamp to explore the world beyond. Danger awaits them when an eccentric pet owner nabs Goggles. Even worse, a sinister science teacher is on the hunt for frogs, dead or alive, to be used in class dissections. Kermit and Croaker come to the rescue with slapstick heroics and beloved Muppet humor. While it's hard to top The Muppet Movie for its irresistible charm (and celebrity cast), there is plenty to enjoy here, notably the seamless interactions between Muppets and humans, and the lively soundtrack, which includes Paul Williams's 1979 Oscar-nominated "Rainbow Connection." And don't miss the film's hilarious outtakes, a delicious dividend for teen and adult viewers. --Lynn Gibson

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Family Entertainment Dec 17 2003
Format:VHS Tape
My husband purchased this video for my 3 year old son on a whim (we both grew up watching the Muppets and thought he might enjoy it) and he absolutely LOVES it. The storyline is easy for younger children to follow, but not so simple that it bores older ones or even parents. The laughs are plentiful for children and adults alike (Jim Henson Productions is great at reaching all generations.)

It has now become one of my son's favorite movies and is pretty much watched on a daily basis. I would highly recommend adding it to your family's collection of movies.

3.0 out of 5 stars Dissecting Frogs is mean.... Nov 9 2003
Format:VHS Tape
Since when did the Muppets stand up for something like 'Dissecting frogs is mean'?

If using something like this as part of the plot counts, then this started with The Muppet Movie. The major villian in the first movie was the 'crazy' Doc Hopper who wants to open up a restraunt chain using Kermit's image... and serve frog legs.

4.0 out of 5 stars This Movie Was Great! Aug 10 2003
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
I loved every bit of this movie! I adore Pilgrim(she made me fall in luv with Bearded Collies)And also my fave highlights of the movie are: #1: the turtles in the pet shop. If you've ever see the muppet show, U will remember the 2 old guys(the ones that made jokes all the time) #2: SEEING the 2 old guys in the movie theater (with black hair!)my sister and I loved that! #3: I liked the inside joke about Kermit passing a kid with the last name Henson. #4: on the bloopers, some band plays a sped-up version of the song that Kermit sings in the beginning of "the Muppet movie" It was really cool! My only question is: was pilgrim a Bearded Collie? I would love 2 know!

4.0 out of 5 stars It is not old style muppets.
However, it is not bad on its own. I am glad they are attempting to keep things going. The guy running Kermit does a good attempt but he is not Jim H. Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars As a fan of the Muppets I was disappointed
I have tried to collect most of the standard Muppet shows on video where possible. This was terrible. Now a lot of it is because I'm an adult, and this one was aimed at children. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars This really stinks, don't waste your money.
I really like the Muppets, both the TV shows and the many movies they have made. This is not worthy of the name Muppets. Save your money and do not buy this. Read more
