This is a great compilation from Bar De Lune records which is out of France. There are three two-disc sets in the compilation: BUDDHA BEATS, KRISHNA BEATS & KHARMA BEATS. Each two-disk set is unique, and broken into "Joy" - the first CD and "Tranquility", the second CD. It's pretty self-explanatory - the Joy CD's are more upbeat, and the Tranquility CD is more ambient in nature.

All of these songs are ambient in nature, with Asian and Middle Eastern embelishments and/or samples, beats and grooves mixed in. Some artists are name artists, such as Moby, Delirium, Afro Celt System, Banco De Gaia & Stereo MC's. A majority of the artists, I've never heard of, but are excellent. This compilation reminds me of the Claude Chalet series "Buddha Bar" - - -

On this collection, (72 cuts in all), there are only two cuts I didn't care for, or better yet, felt out of place on this compilation. Outside of that, I can't recommend it highly enough. If you love ambient music with influences of Asian and Middle-Eastern flourishes, tinged with jazz, drum and bass, and dub and groove - you'll like this collection.

It's a bit pricey, but you can find it lower priced in other places, or pick it up used for a bargain.
