Makes important skills easy and fun to practice Sept. 25 2012
By Mom4Good - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The skills in this book can prevent serious problems, but they are fun to practice with the Kidpower approach. Definitely a great tool for talking about and practicing stranger safety and skills to help prevent abuse and molestation -- without talking about abuse or molestation.

KidPower is Awesome! Sept. 26 2012
By Cathleen - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
The KidPower comics helped us SO MUCH with our kids. My son had been very shy, and practicing the activities in the comics helped him be more self confident. On the other hand, my daughter used to walk up to anyone and start chit-chatting. Practicing the activities in the comics taught her some restraint and appropriate boundaries. We had tried to help both kids with these things beforehand, but our advice and cautions never hit home. KidPower, however, spoke their language, and taught them safety skills in simple, non-shaming, and empowering ways. Hooray for KidPower!!!!

Love Kidpower's books! Sept. 26 2012
By New Parent - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I'm a new parent of a three month old, so we haven't gotten to the book for older kids yet! But I've read it myself and I love the way the skills in this book are essentially the same as the skills in the book for younger kids, but the language meets pre-teens at their own level. Too many safety-oriented books I've seen either talk down to this age group, or introduce topics that they might not be ready for. As always, I think Kidpower does a wonderful job of teaching skills without focusing on the potentially scary or dangerous situations when kids might need them. It's a great balance between acknowledging that there are problems in the world, and giving pre-teens skills they can use to face those problems head-on!
