Canadian Children's Literature Award Winners

On November 19, the Canadian Children's Book Centre announced this year's winners of their four major awards honouring Canadian historical fiction for young readers, picture books, children's nonfiction, and their choice for the most distinguished book of the year. Learn more about the winners:

2009 Governor General's Award Winners for Kids & Teens

This year's Governor General's Literary Awards for children honoured Jirina Marton for her Van Gogh-like illustrations in Bella's Tree; Caroline Pignat for her timeless story of an Irish family surviving the Great Famine in Greener Grass; and Susan Ouriou's translation of Pieces of Me--the first young adult novel to win the English-translation award.
