A thorough and accessible compendium of everything useful about tarot., April 4 2009
By Justatraveler - Published on Amazon.com
I am in awe of the vast amount of accurate and applicable information that I found inside of this book. After spending upwards of $600.00 over the last three years on tarot books, and hundreds of hours in study, I can honestly say that if this had been the first book that I had purchased, I would have saved a LOT of time and money.
The Kingdom Within Tarot offers people a way to bypass the "impenetrable mysteries" and "hidden complexities" that so many in this field purport to be the source of their unverifiable predictions (due to their "predictions" being vague and amazingly general) and "unutterable intuitive understandings," and offers people a way to take back possession of themselves from the piles of lies upon which so much in contemporary society is built.
This work demonstrates that tarot is not just a tool or gimmick to divine the future, but also a breakdown of the parts and mechanics of both the internal and external worlds. A study of the tarot is a study of life!
Incorporating predictive astrology, Jungian archetypes, the ubiquitous story of "The Hero's Journey" (which unearths the common foundation of today's world religions), the sixteen Myers-Briggs personality types, Qabalah, Achad's Restored Tree of Life, and enough history to give us a context into which everything else falls neatly into place, this book takes us on a journey back to ourselves to discover our kingdom within.
The book also has an introduction written by Lon Milo DuQuette, if anybody is familiar with Lon.
Accessible to beginners, yet a great reference and refresher for those already familiar with these and/or related subjects, I highly recommend The Kingdom Within Tarot.

This deck caught my eye before a publisher was involved., Mar 19 2011

I browse the internet regularly for new decks to add to my collection. This deck was featured on the Aeclectic website over 2 years ago,(I am not sure I can add the link but please check out the site). When I discovered Schiffer Books was going to publish, I could hardly wait. They accomplish such a wonderful presentation with Tarot Decks, I was delighted - and I am NOT disappointed. The cards are a more modern approach but still incorporate the mythical, with fantastic accomplishment. The colors are stark and the artwork stunning. Each card tells an integral narrative all its own, therefore opening the door for the reader to translate specifically for an individual rather than restricting the interpretation to the same reading for all individuals, the book would be highly recommended to assist with this undertaking.
The book is written for both the novice and the sage reader. It explains the history of the Tree of Life along with the lighter reading interpretations as well as the deeper complete life studies for the master who wishes to dig deeper than just a superficial look into the cards meaning. The incorporation of astrology theory will appeal to both readers, but for the master it adds and provides for a well-rounded reading.
I especially recommend this tarot to the novice as the book is well written - but be sure to follow the books teaching line as it is at the heart of this deck. If you bought this deck to go off on your own with readings, you will be wasting a very valuable tool that has been provided to you.

My favorite Tarot deck..., Nov 2 2011

The Kingdom Within TarotThe presentation and packaging of this deck and book are beyond what I was expecting. The quality of the cards, the book, and box are superb. The dimensions of the cards are a bit unique. The imagery of the cards combines a lot of different traditions, modern imagery, and even some humor which helps the user to better understand correspondences.
The book is jam-packed full of useful information, meanings, correspondences, and will help people of all levels of understanding.
This is now my favorite Tarot deck and am looking forward to using it.
