I've always wanted a good quality stand mixer and when I saw the Pro 600 on sale, I decided to treat myself. The mixer does not disappoint! My use for it is not on a professional scale but I have found it to be great with my single batch mixtures, I just have to scrape the sides of the bowl to catch any unmixed ingredients. It is a heavy unit so having room on the countertop works best. Absolutely love it!

I bought the Kitchen Aide 600 Professional Stand Mixture for a specific purpose, that is, for its increased bowl capacity. I also have the conventional Kitchen Aide Classic with the 4.5 quart bowl. I have had my original mixture for 18 years. It is still working well and I love using it. As for my new mixture I'm not as impressed. It does hold more which is good. However, I don't like the fact that the arm does not lift and it is not as easy to remove the beater. It is also not as easy to feed ingredients into the bowl. I find the pour lid a joke - simply something else to wash. It is much easier with my older mixer with the lifting arm. I also am not impressed with the fact that the beaters cannot be put in the dishwasher. There are people with allergies in my household and we try to wash most things in a dishwasher. The large size makes it difficult to store but I did know the dimensions when I ordered it. For the most part I will be using my Classic Mixer but there are times when due to size of the recipe I will need to use the 600 Pro. As far as Amazon.ca - the product was delivered as promised in a timely manner. No complaints there.

Learn to mix,

I have used my new Pro 600 three times now and realize I need to learn how to harness its' power and organize adding ingredients. It works great though and I now wonder why I hand mixed for so many years. My arms are strong but I would be able to keep so with more spare time when not wasting it mixing cookies etc. Kayaking here I come!
