This began as a slightly overpriced but paying for quality sort of purchase. I needed to replace my most used kitchen appliance, and a KitchenAid at THAT PRICE, with free shipping? How could i go wrong? It worked nicely out of the box, making toast, brownies, corn on the cob, etc. Then it started to need different sockets, and fuse resets. Ok, old building, no big thing. Well, it was a big thing because one day (13 mos after delivery) i plugged it in and Nothing Happened. I should have looked into local repair shops a little better, because NO ONE repairs small appliances. At all. My building super did a sort of autopsy after i found out no one would even look at it, and at one year, one month, it would not turn on. The tiny tiny motherboard was dead.
Lesson learned. If you must get this, and Anything seems funny in the first year, replace it under warranty.
Would i recommend it to a friend? Only if their city has a local repair facility.
