Product Description

An indispensable tool for increasing or decreasing recipe or portion sizes. The recipe conversion calculator easily scales recipe ingredients up or down to achieve the portion and serving sizes desired. It quickly converts all common food preparation measurements, converting between teaspoons, tablespoons, fluid ounces, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, millilitres, centilitres, and litres, between dry ounces, pounds, grams, and kilograms, and between Fahrenheit and Celsius. The large LCD display shows you the units you're working in, avoiding confusion. The built-in timer displays hours, minutes, and seconds and features a beeper alarm with a distinct sound alerting you when timing is complete; the timer counts up or down and continues to track the time even while the calculator is performing other functions. Of course, the recipe conversion calculator also functions as a standard math calculator, with memory function. Includes a hinged protective hard case and a soft plastic cover to protect the keys during use and allow for easy cleaning.
Also suitable for use in calculating necessary quantities of household cleaning solutions, paint, fertilizers, pool chemicals, automotive fluids, and for use in home wine making and beer brewing.
Dimensions: 5"L × 3"W × ½"H
Warranty: 1 year limited
Includes two long-life batteries (LR43)

Best tool for calculating kitchen formulas and recipes! Oct 17 2002
By Robert Angelone - Published on Amazon.com
I publish Epicurus.com, one of the leading food and travel sites with more than 10,000 recipes. In an average week, I go through more than 200 hundred recipes developing them for our site or our clients. As a restaurant consultant, I scale recipes for clients every day. This calculator has made my life simpler and given me less angst over miscalculated formulae. The device is as simple to use as a normal calculator, but so much better.

No home cook... indeed no professional chef, should be without one of these devices. I've come to depend on it for accuracy, speed and efficiency.

They're far more accurate than the recipe software I've used, easier to work with and far more efficient as I can take this right to the kitchen workstation with me. It fits in my pocket and works like a dream.

An absolute must if you get recipes from cookbooks. Simply wonderful.

I am a pastry chef in SF. I came across this calculator while in culinary school a few years back. One of the best darn tools I use. Every kitchen should have a calculator, but why not one that will also help with conversions? Get this as a gift for anyone you know who loves to cook.

Perhaps May 31 2009

As a "multi-national" often attempting to follow a recipe in different lands with different measures, I thought this would help. Calculated Industries KitchenCalc 8300 Recipe Calculator with Digital Timer. Unfortunately, it is FAR too complicated to revise an entire recipe and after using it just a few times, the display conked out. It wasn't batteries as I was forced to purchase a new set to check. The cost to repair it (it was just out of warranty) exceeded the cost of a new one! Be careful before you spend for this.
