This is the tenth book in the Kitty Norville series, and reads a bit differently than the rest. It's a much lighter book despite the brewing conflict with little action and a lot of talk.
Kitty and company have traveled to London, England for a week-long conference on the supernatural. While there they learn more about the Long Game, reacquaint themselves with some old friends, solve a minor crisis and finally get an answer to Kitty's favourite question: "How old are you?"
This seems more like a set up for a trilogy than a stand alone book even though it can be read by itself and is technically complete. We all know that the showdown with Roman is coming... this book just gives us some more details.
I would have given 5 stars if it was more exciting, but this is still a great bridge book and Kitty's thought process and inner commentary is always worth the read.
