From Library Journal
Departing from her Alison Kaine series, Allen creates a new heroine who sleuths by default. Marta Goicochea, a woman of Basque heritage, sells advice via Denver's psychic hotlines and flea-market booths. For the past six months, though, she's been severely depressed about the breakup of her last love affair. After her best friend tricks her into attending group therapy, Marta meets a woman who is soon to be accused of murder. The woman asks Marta to help locate a possibly crucial witness. Intensely written prose, lesbian and other social issues, and a dry sense of humor make this a good choice for appropriate collections.
