Product Description

Gear up for action with superstar David Hasselhoff and his supercar K.I.T.T. as they throttle crime in every high-octane episode from the first season of Knight Rider, finally available to own for the first time on DVD. The series follows the thrilling adventures of Michael Knight, a detective thought to be dead, who's been given a new face and identity. His assignment: to fight crime with the help of an artificially intelligent, talking car named K.I.T.T., a high-speed, futuristic weapon outfitted with high-tech gadgets and a personality of its own. Driven by justice, they set out to take down criminals who operate above the law in this 22-episode DVD set tricked out with loads of special extras including a bonus disc featuring the movie sequel Knight Rider 2000.

"One man can make a difference," intones a dying millionaire--well, one man and a superduper car, backed with millions of dollars! Welcome to the deliciously ridiculous world of Knight Rider, the early '80s TV series that launched the career of David Hasselhoff and his magnificent coif (both later seen in the insanely popular Baywatch). After being shot in the face, detective Michael Long is revived as Michael Knight (Hasselhoff) and partnered with an indestructible talking car called K.I.T.T. (voiced by William Daniels). The duo travel around the country solving crimes--basically, it's The Lone Ranger with the car as Silver and Tonto combined. Supported by finicky British executive Devon Myles (Edward Mulhare) and sexy engineer Bonnie Barstow (Patricia McPherson), Knight and K.I.T.T. take on everything from motorcycle gangs to corporate crooks to K.I.T.T.'s own evil twin, K.A.R.R.

Like any good cheese, Knight Rider has only grown more pungent with age. Decked out in alarming '80s fashions (check out that blue Members Only jacket in the pilot), earnestly spouting some of the worst dialogue in the history of television, the absurdly handsome Hasselhoff radiates the unique charisma that's made him a Teutonic cult figure. In addition to the 21 episodes of the first season, Knight Rider: Season One includes a 1991 TV movie, Knight Rider 2000, that tried to launch a revamped series set in the near future (lacking the cheerful touch of creator Glen Larson, the attempt sank into oblivion) and brief interview footage (including Hasselhoff describing when he read the original script: "It was glowing in my hands. This was gold.") It's unlikely this boxed set will appeal to anyone who didn't become a fan of the show at an impressionable age, but for those fans, Knight Rider: Season One is gold. --Bret Fetzer

I had seen this series on the TV and loved it.
I thought it would be a great show to watch with my son, he especially loved the movie Transformers and with KITT transforming into attack mode or a truck it made this show even cooler.
I was really into the original series and wanted to give the New Knight Rider a go, I also totally loved it.

Also lets face it that for the adult women amongst us what's not to love about Justin Bruening!

I thought that by joining the Columbia House DVD club and subscribing to "Knight Rider" that I would be getting all the episodes from my most favorite 80's show! Not!! They only sent me seven Dvd's with a total of only 16 episodes, and then they stopped sending me anymore after that! So I am just thrilled that finally somebody went out and did this!! I can't wait!

Thank you AMAZON,for giving me the greatest news since the release of Abbott and Costello movie box sets.I love Knight Rider and I've been waiting for I don't know how many years for this to happen.I hope it's the original NBC broadcast and not the Sci-Fi Channel version or some other edited syndicated version.I thank the studio for finally releasing this.I'm sure many of us were taken in with pirated inferior crap from Ebay. This is why I say,Studios can make the biggest contribution to stop pirating by releasing their stuff in pristine condition as soon as possible, especially if it's popular like this title.I am very eager to collect the entire series.Being an honest fan I can readily state that there are alot of stinky episodes in this series, but the great ones more than compensate. Season 1 has the least amount of clunkers.Season 2 has the boring, what were they thinking,Mouth of the Snake a 2 prtr. And the embarrassing, make you cringe, who told David Hasselhoff to sing horribly lame songs in a dreadfully lame way LET IT BE ME.But guess what? I still want the second season.(for a lower cost of coarse).I'm still waiting for The 60s Tv show BATMAN.Knight Rider is like SON OF BATMAN. crime fighting, advanced technology, secret indentities, extremely large amounts of cash at their disposal, and we musn't forget THE COOL BLACK CARS!

Michael Long was a Police Lt workin undercover on a case in Las Vegas.During it's duty it's shoot on her face by a ruthless woman and left dead on his car.A dying millonaire ,Wilton Knight takes him to his lair and gives him a new face and identity Michael Knight. He also provides him with a new intelligent armoured Black Trans-Am with a cool new dash and capable of talkin,do jumps in the air and cruises at top speed of 300 mph to get the criminals who operate above the law as the intro speech says. The show lasted for 4 seasons.Between where the cool Airwolf and the short Street Hawk which only lasted 1 season.
The 4 stars rating is because the no inclusion of English subtitles on the discs only captions that only NTSC Tv Sets can display not PALs like mine.
