4.0 out of 5 stars The Kobe Bryant Story (through the teenage years...), April 26 2002

This review is from: The Kobe Bryant Story (Paperback)
Wayne Coffey's juvenile biography of Kobe Bryant for the Fast Breaks series was written after the 1997-98 season, which was only Bryant's second season in the NBA and still a teenager. That was the season Bryant was picked to start the All-Star game, when he was not even starting games for his team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Consequently, this book is as much about his potential as it is about his life and basketball career up to that point. Coffey does a good job of explaining both Bryant's work ethic and capturing the downs as well as the ups of his early pro career (his first shot in the NBA was blocked). Hopefully young readers of this informative biography will pick up the lessons about working hard to improve your skills on the court. If you want to find out what happened with Kobe Bryant the next two seasons culminating in his first World Championship ring, then check out the superb juvenile biography "On the Court with...Kobe Bryant" by Glenn Stout.

By A Customer
This review is from: The Kobe Bryant Story (Paperback)
This author(Wayne R. Coffey), really got to the point. This book told us about the "REAL KOBE BRYANT" and the "ON-THE-COURT KOBE BRYANT. If there is another Kobe Bryant book for kids, it is nothing like this one! Thanks for reading my review on Wayne R. Coffey's biography on "KOBE BRYANT."
