I did find that I could extend the life of these pads by removing them and allowing them to air dry, before reusing.

These scrubbing pads work very well on smooth floors. I used them on smooth marble floor tile and they did not scratch the tiles. The pads will last quite a while on smooth floors. I also used them on rough, porcelain tile (the type of tile that looks like real shale/stone. I had to use two sets of pads to scrub a 16 foot by 3 foot hallway. These pads work very well for scrubbing. But if your floors are even slightly rough, you will go through these pads quickly. I suggest that you buy several sets.
