5.0 out of 5 stars easy set up Feb 3 2013
Amazon Verified Purchase
The set up is surprisingly easy. I use it for two of my computers. I recommend it highly for its simplicity of uses.I congratulate Kodak for finally simplifying set up. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to set it up: just drop in the CD and it's done.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best printer ever!! Oct 22 2011

1. Easy install and set up with my laptop, done without connecting any cables! required your network passcode if you set up the sequrity.
2. Wifi works very well
3. Automatic BOTH FACE printing!!- It prints one side and rolls the paper back inside and prints out the other side. So you don't have to touch or turn the papers for both sided printing!
4. Power Saving feature- Turns off when I'm not using, turn back on automatically when I order to print from my computer
5. Easy feeding for scaning-Just put in on tray and it takes care of scaning by it self.
6. No jam for coping
7. The home center program includes many fun features, but not necessay to use it for other task.
8. It makes clean copy with instant dry ink.

I don't know about Fax, didn't get the phone line yet.
It makes somewhat loud sounds when it print, but it doesn't bother me much.

I love this printer!

2.0 out of 5 stars Good LOCAL printer, worthless on a network Mar 15 2012
By N4AOF - Published on Amazon.com
The print quality and features are good for a local printer, but it is useless over a network unless you constantly send it new print jobs to keep it awake.

After it sits idle for a while this printer puts itself to sleep to save power (although tests suggest that it doesn't save very much power). The problem is that this printer CANNOT wake up from sleep mode. If you try to send it a print job after it goes into sleep mode, the print job will just time out because it cannot find the printer while it is asleep and it can't wake the printer. As shown in Kodak's own troubleshooting guide, the only way to wake up the printer is to walk to the printer location to manually turn the power off then turn it back on again. Once the printer restarts itself it will work fine -- until the next time it does to sleep.

The latest firmware update finally gives you a way to choose how long the printer can be idle before it puts itself to sleep -- but the choices only range from 1 hour to a maximum of 4 hours -- there is no way to turn this "feature" off.

I've got the Kodak Office Hero 6.1 but Kodak tech support assures me that ALL Kodak all-in-one printers share one major firmware flaw -- none of their printers can wake up from "sleep" mode without being manually reset from the printer control panel.

This is fine for a local printer where the power button is within arm's reach of the computer but it makes the printer nearly useless as a network printer and totally useless for cloud printing unless you keep sending new print jobs to the printer to keep it from going to sleep.

Instead of calling it sleep mode, a better name would be "coma" mode or perhaps "brain dead" mode.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kodak Hero 6.1 Wireless Printer Nov 25 2011
By alv421 - Published on Amazon.com
I just brought this printer a week ago, and it's the best I've had for a long time, I had a Dell A966, always losing the wireless connection and use up ink like crazy and the ink is not cheap, and they cost so much, the only problem I had with this printer is the wireless connection, download the latest software from the Kodak web-site, turn off your firewall before running the software, run the software for usb or wireless and follow the direction
