It's for those who love the beat-em up kind of gameplay. The game is fun to play, the gundams are were designed well, look great. The powered up attacks are a bit out of control, so you don't always hit whom you want to when you use them and the gameplay gets a bit repetitive because the A.I. for most enemies in the game is really bad. I hope they fixed those inconveniences in the second installment of the game.

However, it's still a really fun game to play, there are tons of Gundams and new missions you can earn as you play.

Dynasty Warriors with Gundam Dec 5 2007

Plays exactly like Dynasty Warriors series and Samurai Warriors. If you like the other games then you'll probably like this too. I don't mind the hack and slash games, but I only played Dynasty Warriors 4 and 5 on the PS2 and Samurai Warriors. I would recommend this to those that like the other series just because well it's a little new. It plays the same and all, but with the added Gundam theme. It's basically just like going from Dynasty Warriors to Samurai Warriors. Story isn't really that great though, but if you just wanna destroy 1000 enemies then this is it. I have only watched G Gundam and Gundam Wings, so I'm not sure how the other series was. But characters comes from all over the series, but only Domon from G Gundam and Heero from Gundam Wing is in here. Cuz I don't really recognize any of the other Gundams.

The game to me is shorter then the other series because well, there's really no more then 4 missions for each character. And it basically just drag each mission on to about 15 - 30 min. So basically to level your pilots (max 30) or Gundam (max 10) you would have to play the mission over and over. That's probably why they give the option to play with a pilot using different Gundam. Along with the cutscene and victories, they seem to be all the same no matter what Pilot you use. But there is a "Offical Mode" which follows the Gundam storyline, and it will end the same, with the same cut scenes no matter what side you pick....... The "Original Mode" Which is a story about a mysterious planet and all Gundam pilots are just thrown in there.

If you like the series, but don't like the Gundam theme then I suggest you just wait for Dynasty Warriors 6.

A much needed change. Nov. 6 2007

I have played several installments of the Dynasty Warriors series and it never truly felt anything had really changed. Like Street Fighter, the games used the same formula with new characters and for loyal fans, it worked but unless you were a fan of the series, it just wouldn't grab your attention. I've watched several Gundam series over the years and was excitied when I first heard of this game. I had read good reviews on it and many people I spoke with said it was worth a look so I bought a copy and have loved it. I can tell you right now that many Gundams are not included in this game mainly from the G-Gundam series though to be fair, many would prefer more Gundams from the Gundam Wing Series. I honestly would like to see Dragon Gundam and DeathScythe Gundam in this game but I am hoping they will do a sequel and add those Gundams in. Still regardless of how I would like certain characters added in, I still very much enjoy playing this game. It is just great fun to have several Zaku mobile suits coming at you at once and you just unleash combos on all of them and before you know it, you have already put down 100 enemies in less than a minute and a half. I would reccommend this game to any Gundam fan or Dyansty Warriors fan, however if you are not someone into battling several opponents at once, I would pass on this but I still would tell anyone, this is a great game to own.

Not too shabby, but could be better. Oct. 22 2014

I've played the Gundam for several months and it was not too bad.

My girl and I are Gundam fans and we just had to try this out.

It's not too bad, Gundam build quality looks pretty good. Nothing crazy blurry.
No lag from having an army of robots on the screen.

I've played Dynasty Warriors 2 and 3 and this one felt like more of the same.

The earlier ones were pretty good as you were able to do quests and the story lines are simple.

Initially it was very exciting to play this as we both never got to play the previous Dynasty Warriors together and thus this is our first time playing this type of game together.

Co-op was pretty good. We would split up and clear the map. We would race to beat the boss like minions.

Solo: was pretty tedious as you had to kill 1k robots in multiple missions (I wish those were a bit more different)

As you play the game, you receive pieces of other gundams to unlock them as you finish each set.
Basically this has a RPG leveling up feel to it as well. (Those type of flash games always gets me too)

At the current price, it's a must for any Gundam fans. They have about every series covered, although some are more highly favored than others(Mobile Suit Gundam and Gundam Seed). I would really like to see a game based soley on Gundam Wing come out soon!

If you love the hack and slash elements of Dynasty Warriors and are a Gundam fan this game is a must have. As a long time fan of the Dynasty Warrior series this game was very easy to pick up and start playing. I also got my wife into it even though she is not much of a gamer so it's not hard to play. Not to say it isn't challenging at times. I really liked the fact that many of the battles require you to be smart about how you proceed, not just slash slash slash. I knew almost nothing about Gundam before I played this but found the stories to be typical Anime style on the better than average side. Some of the voice overs can be annoying, especially since they yell them every time you Musou. The game looks great, music is good, controls are solid. Finding items to boost your mechs is a fun side project. There is a lot of replay value here too. Great game.
