Not a bad game, but certainly not as good as previous ones in this series.I just found that if the game had more music/sounds/more interesting puzzles it could have been so much better. It just became so boringgggggg. Anyway, overall an okay game but nothing special. I was happy with shipping.

Silent Hill : Another Swing, Not Quite a Hit,

I have been a Silent Hill fan since I came across Silent Hill 2 : Restless Dreams for the original X-box. Since then, I have been fascinated with the atmosphere and back story related to the Silent Hill franchise. I own the comics, the games, and I've spent a lot of time reading into the underlying meanings implemented into the games. I'm only about a 1/3rd through Downpour, and I can honestly say I really have yet to be impressed. It's not bad, but it's not particularly good. The enemies feel cheap and easy to avoid (and are usually fairly non-threatening because you can simply walk/run away)and so far the game lacks any real moments of uncertainty or fear. The mechanics lean more to the clunky side than to the intuitive, but not to the point that it makes the game un-enjoyable. The story is mostly cannon (specifically if you've read the comic Past Life) although Murphy seems to be the most disconnected, and most undeserving victim, to stroll into the Silent Hill series. The combat is a mix between Silent Hill Homecoming and Origins, although the targeting is a little off. You'll often find yourself attempting to attack an enemy and have Murphy take a wild swing no where near your target. Your objective/destination are also not very clear, leaving the player to explore and stumble around looking for something to help the progression of the story. While this doesn't happen often, it is very frustrating when it does. All in all, so far, I am really enjoying the game, but that is mostly due to the fact that I love Silent Hill as a series, and any additional story to blend into it's already impressive history and mythos. A must for any die hard Silent Hill fan, but should be avoided by anyone who is new to the series.

I'm no the biggest SH fan but I picked this game up and found amazing...the atmosphere, the characters, the overall 'feel' of the game is top notch...I definetly rec this game to people who love this series and people who are looking for a psychological thriler that's more hands on than Amnesia:Dark Descent
