Use gloves to keep the oil from your fingers off the plugs. They fit perfectly and are easy to cut to length on the bandsaw. They stain with no problem and I had no trouble gluing them in place.

I found that the plugs don't really seat properly. I cut just a bit off of the square end and glued them in place. I then sanded and wood filled them before I painted my project. This wouldn't work as well if you were going to stain your project. Certainly MUCH better than filling the entire hole with wood putty...
5.0 out of 5 starsThey work great just like the rest of the Kreg Products, July 7 2011

I used these plugs to put a handrail of pine that had twisted from the post and they worked great. I set the guage to drill the hole installed the plugs with a little glue and the patch after painting is not noticable and gave me a really strong joint.
