The single-serve beverage machine works with easy-to-use capsules that come sealed with pre-measured ingredients for mess-free brewing and foolproof results. To use, simply add water to the 32-ounce removable water tank, insert the coffee or tea capsule into the magnetic capsule holder, secure the locking handle, and slide the selection lever to hot or cold depending on the beverage desired. With a press of the "on" button, the machine takes care of the rest, dispensing the beverage into whatever cup has been placed below. When finished, discard the used coffee capsule, rinse the capsule holder, and the machine's ready for the next cycle--without any transfer of flavor from one cup to the next (beverages never come in contact with the machine).

The single-serve multi-purpose beverage machine comes equipped with 1500 watts of power, for fast heating in less than a minute, and a 15-bar Thermoblock pump pressure system that helps ensure a foamy froth, rich crema, and full flavor (other single-cup home brewers offer only 1 to 3 bars of pressure). How It Works

NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® machines heat water, which is passed at high pressure - a maximum of 15 bars -into the coffee cup through a capsule of high-quality NESCAFÉ® roast and ground coffee. The coffee that is used in the capsules is made of premium 100% Arabica beans.

The high pressure and the capsules are designed to deliver an even distribution of water and pressure over the coffee to ensure that flavor is maximized. This system uses pressure similar to that of professional machines.

While drip coffee machines operate at one bar of pressure (normal atmospheric pressure) and a number of competing machines operate at no more than two bars, the NESCAFÉ® Dolce Gusto® system can operate at up to 15 bars of pressure. Each capsule makes one cup of coffee in under a minute.

I highly recommend this machine.

What you need to know is that on this machine, you control the water flow. So, you have to look on the box of capsules to see approximately how much water is required. Generally, though, I just eyeball it. I like a milder coffee so I use more water. The Keurig is different in that it stops the water flow based on what kind of coffee you put in. so that's the main difference.

The Nescafe coffees are very good. There is only one drawback, and that is that there are way more varieties overseas than in stores here in Canada. This is a problem Nescafe has to fix quickly.

Otherwise, you'll be satisfied with the choices currently available as they are high quality. You will love using this machine. It's easy and foolproof, and it looks amazing. I recommend it 100 per cent.

UPDATE:

It's been a month now and I still love this machine, however, the limited choice of coffee is really a downside - and there's no tea other than iced peach! The Keurig offers 200 choices of K-Cups, including black and green tea, and I think, given the better selection, that's a better option. Keurigs don't offer cappucinos, however, but that's a minor point. I've already written to Nescafe and told them that they need more variety; however, that's not about to happen - so I would recommend looking into a Keurig and the choice of KCups before getting this machine. The limited variety will turn out to be a big downside over time.

Great product. What I like best about the Nescafe Dolce Gusto besides it's good looks ( I purchased the Circolo model) is it's ease of use. Ten minutes after taking it out of the box I had my first cup of coffee. After that it takes just over a minute to brew a fresh one. I also found that the capsules were cheaper than the competition.
All in all I'm quite pleased with my purchase and I highly recommend it.
