The first time I saw one of these in a store, I thought, "What a waste of money." But, after breaking both of my egg slicers trying to save money by using what I already had to slice mozzarella, I broke down and bought one of these. The wires are stronger than on an egg slicer, and I've used this dozens of times to slice mozzarella, and many cooked vegetables - beets and potatoes come to mind. It's fast, efficient, and easy to clean in the dishwasher.

There is nothing more frustrating than slicing Mozzarella cheese. This slicer "IS" the answer to the problem. It works like a charm. Perfect slices for any recipe. Do make sure your solid piece of cheese isn't too big, however as that will cause some slippage of the wire slicers. Easy cleanup in the dishwasher. Perfect tool if you are tired of trying to use just a knife. Well built kitchen gadget.
