Product Features

  • Unrelenting Sharpness: The strength and density of advanced ceramic or Zirconium Oxide, allow grinding to microscopic precision by diamond wheels. This hardness translates into a rock-like edge that will not roll like conventional blades. Advanced ceramic blades stay razor-sharp 10 times longer than conventional steel blades, including high carbon steels.
  • Unparalleled Purity: Ceramic is a pure and healthy alternative. Unlike steel blades, ceramic blades will never rust or change from its natural state. It is totally impervious to acids, juices, oils, salts or other elements. As a result, it will never alter the taste, smell or appearance of food.
  • Ultra Lightweight: Kyocera ceramic cutlery is typically half the weight of equivalent knives. Perfectly balanced, this lightweight tool becomes a comfortable extension of the hand, reducing fatigue during repetitive cutting tasks.
  • Easy maintenance. Ceramic does not absorb food elements, allowing just a quick rinse and wipe with a kitchen towel. Hand wash or dry with kitchen towel.

5.0 out of 5 stars First Ceramic Knife, April 18 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is my first ceramic knife I've bought, and I'm very happy with it

It is amazingly sharp, and maintenance is low. It is not as versatile as a steel knife, but that is to be expected since it is ceramic. It effortlessly handles all my slicing needs for veggies, fruits and meats. Don't cut anything with bones using this knife though, it can chip if you do. I've bought a Victorinox Bladesafe 6"-8" to help store this knife, and it works well, despite being too long.

As a side note, I have average hands, but I found the handle to be a bit small, and the nub at the end is too smooth, making it possible to be pulled out of your hand, as compared to my other knife that has a pointier nub on the handle that keeps the knife from being pulled out of your hand.

It is a great companion knife to an all purpose steel knife.

This knife is amazing! I actually find myself cooking at home more often because it cuts so well. It slices through tomato as well as butternut squash. It is sharp. The knife is light and ergonomic and easy to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best knife for fruits, Feb 14 2012
This review is from: Kyocera Revolution Series 5.5-Inch Santoku Knife, Orange (Kitchen)
I bought 1 years ago the wooden handle Ming Sui signed for 110$ and used sometimes with carefully. That time it was made in and Packaged in Japan. after some years sold as new, because I kept everything came with. If you not misuse it is forever and you can sharpen it with diamond sharpener from Kyocera or Kasumi(better I think). I have both. I bought Santoku, Nakiri and 4.5 in and all are very good. Somebody wrote made in China. Yes, made by automatic machine from Japan and Chinese labor packaged and sent it overseas to sell it cheap. Now a days China and Korea making copies and they are selling for cents and dollars, but I had one and it is almost garbage, but it cuts. Chinese copy anything japan today, they do it next day why Japanese economy is suffering and chinese crooks are flourishing everyday.
