I purchased my first ceramic knife in Japan and was bluffed by the Chinese tour guide that it was only made and sold within Japan. I loved the knife set and used them for more than a year until my wife chopped bones with it..LOL. Everything's got its special uses, you don't kiss your poisonous pet spider, and you don't chop bones with a ceramic knife, unless you are in desperate need of a makeshift handsaw.
Well, she's a perfect wife except doesn't think too much about anything, I couldn't really yell at her, she cooked for me with a smile for more than a decade without complaining while I gun down zombies on PS3.
I was totally shocked to find out that it is for sale by Amazon and shocked again when on the packaging it is 'made in China'. I'm from China but suffered from all kinds of fake brand-names and poor quality products for so long that I'm more than a bit leery at buying anything delicate and expensive. But I have no choice. Can't really fly to Japan for a knife. But really hoped it was made in Japan, hence a 4 star.
Other than that, man, steel knives are history, these are Knives of Art, like cooking is. Ok, you wanna go out driving a Mercedes, and you wanna keep one of these knives in your kitchen too, even if you don't actually cook, like me.
