Emphasizes weight lifting,

This is a book to help you get into better shape. While the book covers stretching and cardio exercise to varying degrees, it clearly spends most of its exercise routines having the reader lift weights.The book intends to accomplish its goal of getting you into better shape by doing it in phases, with each one having different goals (too lengthy to go into here). Phase one is the Bronze phase (5 weeks), then the Silver phase (5 weeks), followed by a Gold phase (9 weeks) and finally ends with the Platinum phase (3 weeks), where the goal is to get a body like LL's. An additional phase, the Diamond phase, is included just for the ladies. There's a ton of info in here on just about every fitness topic and I really liked that throughout the book, there are these "rap session" sections where LL interviews experts in the fitness field and current information is shared- this is a big plus. LL fans will also like the LL trivia that is scattered throughout the book. One of the more interesting and informative fitness books on the market, I liked it. Also recommend Treat Your Own Rotator Cuff if you have a bad shoulder that keeps you from lifting weights.

Super Workout for everyone,

I started using this book exactly 6 weeks ago. I'm 26 years old male. When I was a teenager, I used to workout but after my shoulder injury, I had to stop and being lazy and all, I quit for over 10 years! Also, naturally my metabolism is very fast, so I don't gain weight that fast.After using LL's book, I started following his plans very closely. Diet and workout, both. 6 weeks later, I have gained 6 pounds (which is amazing for me and my body type!) and I look ALOT better now. When I started the workouts 6 weeks ago, I could use only 15lb dumbbell for my worksout but now I have moved to over 35 lb on some body parts. I have a shoulder injury which prevents me from heavy exercises, but LL's step by step workout targets specific muscles from day 1 and strengthens it over time. Although, I have to admit, in 45 mins-1 hour time, alot more can be done and alot more focus can be put on specific muscles that LL's workouts don't mention anything about them (at least so far). For example, in the first 6 weeks, not much is done for forearms. Also, I think a little bit more focus on upper body and arms is alot more useful, especially on muscles that are abit harder to work them like triceps, obliques (abs) and pecs and ... In conclusion, it is a VERY VERY VERY good book for those who FOLLOW it CLOSELY! If you do, you'll get super AMAZING results from it and FAST! Thanks LL!

When the student is ready the teacher appears! This Buddhist saying was absolutely true for me when it came to LL Cool J's book. I appreciated every aspect of the book from the discussion about nutrition to the science behind muscle building, fat loss and body conditioning. Superb content, not just for boys looking to bulk up - I'm a middled aged woman looking to stay flexible and fit for my retirement! Just another reason why Ladies Love Todd Smith.
