5.0 out of 5 stars Top notch LLM guide July 2 2012
By Dave G - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I had the opportunity to get my hands on a copy of this guide by WKLB and it is fantastic. Much like their other products this one does not disappoint. First and foremost, the small blurbs (reasons to earn an LL.M. degree, documents you should be familiar with, and reciprocity agreements) in each chapter are informative and great reference points. Also, the chapter highlights and reviews are an added bonus for quick reference when you return to the book at a later time.

Another great aspect about this book is the fact that it really is a one-stop-shop guide. It covers everything from personal statements to CVs to language proficiency requirements to financial guidance (including scholarship, discounts etc..)

Lastly, the guide goes further than just giving information in regards to legal programs. It is also a great place to learn about societal life in the United States. This guide really helps students from beginning to end, and then once you are at the end it helps a little more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Valuable LL.M guide Mar 25 2012
By MrLawStudent - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
LL.M. Roadmap written by George E. Edwards ISBN 978-1-4548-0239-6, offers a comprehensive and practical guide for international students seeking admission to U.S. Law School Programs. This guide navigates the prospective student from point A to Z. Point A being researching various U.S. LL.M. programs and then Z, life after obtaining the LL.M. degree.

"It is well known that enrolling in an LLM program is a time consuming and extremely expensive endeavor. In selecting programs to apply to, prospective applicants often look for LLM rankings in an effort to determine which programs are most desirable to them on the basis of the programs' appeal to a broad survey audience. Unfortunately, there are no such official rankings for LLM programs and, conceptually, there cannot be." LLM guide.net

This book however works around a superficial look at LL.M. rankings and seeks to cater to the individual needs and interests. It answers questions about the value of the LL.M. degree, the types, a unique 218 point criteria in ranking LL.M. programs, admissions, scholarships and employment. Especially important is that this guide navigates the student visa issues and offers explanations and advice.

This book is a must have to all international lawyers seeking a U.S. Law degree. Doing a search on Amazon or other retail books sellers reveals that there is little out there advising foreign lawyers on things such as admission advice and types of LL.M. programs. However, this book is not only the rare find, it promises to deliver on its title as a "Roadmap."
