The Feel
This mattress has a medium-firm feel. The 2.5" memory foam comfort layer will cradle your body and relieve pressure points so you wake up well rested. It works throughout the night to correctly align your spine, improving your posture and preventing lower back pain.
Open Cell Memory Foam
The manufacturing process makes a softer foam that will quickly conform to your body weight and position. Open cell construction makes for a longer lasting, more resilient foam that will not leave long-lasting body impressions. The memory foam also helps to isolate motion transfer between sleeping partners.
Safe for You and the Environment
The memory foam is naturally resistant to allergens and dust mites. The soft velour cover is also hypoallergenic and prevents dust mites and other allergens.
This foam is CertiPUR-US® certified which means this product has been independently tested for safety of materials used, physical performance, and environmental stewardship. Careful construction guarantees no prohibited phthalates, no ozone depleters, no CFCs, no mercury, no formaldehyde, no PBDEs, and low emission (VOCs) for indoor air quality. This mattress does not contain synthetic or natural latex of any kind.
25-Year Warranty
We offer a 25-year warranty that protects the mattress and cover against manufacturer's defects.
Conveniently Shipped for Easy Set Up
All of our products are shipped vacuum packed, so your mattress is easy to transport and set up. After your mattress arrives, simply take the package into the right room, remove it from the box and protective wrap, and then watch as it expands. Includes one Queen mattress (59" x 79") and cover. Mattress cover may vary from picture in pattern and color.

For warranty purposes Lucid recommends this frame and box spring in one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENQQTY8

Small body impressions less than 1.5 inches are normal and not covered under the warranty. The warranty applies only to the original purchaser. Abuse, stains on the cover or mattress, or platform or box foundation support will void any warranty. Lucid shall not be liable for any consequential losses arising from the purchase, installation and/or use of this product.

We purchased this mattress in January of this year and were very excited when it first arrived. It was very firm and extremely comfortable, exactly what we had hoped for. Unfortunately, within six months, the memory foam began to soften, and by August it was giving us both terrible backaches. It was easy to determine this, because the center of the bed, where neither of us sleep, is still as firm today as it was the day we received the mattress.

We tried numerous times to contact Lucid about this problem, and for months received no response. Since Lucid doesn't list a phone number on their site (intentionally?), we had to use their e-mail form. For over a month, all we got was a roaring silence.
When Lucid finally responded, they flat-out refused to replace...by redefining their warranty on the fly to exclude our specific situation. We sent them a dozen photos, as requested, that clearly demonstrated the mattress was retaining an impression of more than 2" with nobody on it, and was not acting like "memory" foam at all. They informed us the mattress had to retain that impression for a full two hours after it was used. Really???

By my calculations, it would take two people, each weighing in at approximately 900 lbs., sleeping on the bed for three days and nights straight, to sufficiently damage the mattress to qualify it for warranty replacement under their criterion!

At that point, we stopped expecting Lucid to do the right thing. Clearly they have no interest in standing behind what they sell, so we're now deciding whether to pursue litigation or just chalk the whole thing up to experience and buy another bed.

Was looking to replace an aging spring mattress. Found this online, and for the price, decided to try it. After taking in all the reviews, I can tell you that it is a firm mattress, and it does soften with your body heat. Been sleeping deeply on it for a week now, no lasting indents, ridges or problems. Rose to the full 10 inches in 24 hours. Little to no odor either. Comes with a 20 year warranty, but who keeps a bed that long really? If I get 5 to 10 years from a $320 king size foam, I'm way ahead of the $2500 pillow top king size it's replacing. That one lasted 3 years, developed a sag on a proper base, but wasn't sagging enough to be fixed under warranty or extended warranty...thanks SC...Bottom line, you can't go wrong with this mattress. Do yourself a favor and buy it.

5 month update: Still the best mattress I've owned. No problems noted. Still recommended!

I bought this and Structures by Malouf HIGHRISE Folding Metal Bed Frame 14" High Bi-Fold Platform Bed Base and Box Spring as a replacement for an aging high-end organic cotton mattress and boxspring. So worth the money!

What everyone says is true: after unpacking, you need several days for the scent to start dissipating. I'm usually sensitive to odours or chemicals, and this didn't give me a headache or make me feel sick, but definitely was noticeable. The frame is very stable and provides a tonne of under-bed storage which is really handy in a small bedroom like ours.

I found the mattress firm but still soft enough, but to please my BF who likes a softer mattress, we added an Obus-Forme topper from Sears. It's a really nice balance between firm and soft, no aches and pains, and my BF can now (mostly) sleep through the night. Compared to the prices on even entry level mattresses from conventional furniture shops, this has been a really pleasant alternative.

My only complaint, aside from the smell, is that it is warmer than the cotton mattress that I am used to. I found that in the summer (we've used it for about 5 months now), I needed to sleep without sheets and even with AC, I felt warm. If you're sensitive to heat or prefer a cooler bed, you might need something different or a special topper. My BF didn't notice any difference in terms of the heat.

Also, if you are heavier, this mattress and frame are more than adequate for support. No creaking!

I received the mattress in it's nicely rolled up box, which made delivery and moving very easy. I decided to let the mattress unfold and relax for a full 48 hours before sleeping on it as I wanted to give it a chance to expand to its full 10". There was a very slight chemical smell to the mattress, that did not really bother me, but after 48 hours I could not detect any smell at all. Even though the mattress did expand quite a lot, it did not reach its full 10". It expanded to 9" in the middle, and 8" at the corners. I'm not sure once I put in on my bed and put sheets on it if it will every reach the full 10". Now I'm glad I did not get the 8" mattress, as this mattress will be placed on a low-profile platform bed and I wanted it to be at least 8" high.

After lying on it for the first time, my impression was that it was a firm mattress, but you do really sink into the memory foam layer at the top. That sensation seemed strange, but not unpleasant. After my first sleep, I did find it comfortable, but I found the mattress to be rather warm. I had to kick off my comforter over night to cool off. With the summer months coming up I don't know if the mattress will seem too hot, but if so I will adjust by using more or less sheets on top.

Overall I'm rather happy with the mattress.

* Update June 13 2014 *

Well after using this mattress for ~3 months, I have to say that I do not like the softness of the memory foam. At the beginning, it was a novel idea to "sink" into the memory foam, but over time I found it to feel way too soft. I could not lay still on my back with the feeling of the soft memory foam around me. So I did an experiment and flipped the mattress over so that the dense foam side was on top.
