We laughed until we cried when we first saw "La cage aux folles", but were very nervous when "The birdcage" was released, as a remake is so often, in our opinion, disappointing. This was NOT the case here. Once one has accepted that two products like this should be judged independently and not competitively, it makes life much easier. Being able to buy the two movies as one package is a great advantage, also. We do have the benefit of being bilingual, but the subtitles are done very well, so very little is lost.
Highly recommended for entertainment value, and excellent dollar value also.
