This review is from: Lacrosse Team Strategies: The New Offense - Defense System (Paperback)
I haven't read this book, but I just had to clarify to anyone who reads these reviews, that this book is for BOX lacrosse. The person who tore this book apart in their review has clearly only played Field lacrosse, and isn't even aware of the other version of the game played across all of Canada.
So just bare in mind, this book is for Indoor (Box) lacrosse, when making your purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars Most thorough coaching book I've seen, Dec 3 2011

I coach outdoor lacrosse, a parent showed me this book, and after breezing through it, I bought it immediately (years and years ago). I am back to order it again to send it to a buddy who has never played lacrosse and is starting a youth program to coach his kids who are going to play outdoor and box.

This book breaks down every part of the game for box. What it does better is break it down to the fundamental level, especially with picks. It gives all kinds of drills to do as well, so any coach could easily get through a lacrosse season just by using the drills in this book.

I usually don't write reviews, though seeing a one star is prompted me to write this one. Yes, this is a box lacrosse book, so not a reason to give it a bad review just because someone wanted information on outdoor lacrosse. That one star review should be deleted as it's not on the content of the book and more on Amazon to give a proper description. Return the book and get an outdoor book instead of giving a bad review of a book. Very misleading.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, April 14 2011

I looked forward to getting this book. But when it arrived I was disappointed to find out its almost entirely about box lacrosse (5 on 5) rather than field lacrosse (9 on 9). While the picture on the cover is inside an arena, the title does not imply its only about box lacrosse. So be warned coaches, unless you are coaching box lacrosse, the book has limited value to you because the team concepts in box and field lacrosse are entirely different.
