Get out a hankie. You'll need it!, Aug 4 2011

This review is from: Lady Altheas Bargain (Paperback)
A beautiful heiress, Lady Althea Hawthorne should have lived happily ever after.
However, there are a few things in the way: Her father was a libertine, so despite how perfect she has always behaved scandal shadows her. Her stepfather is a lecher and if he can't have her, he intends for her to marry a man who will beat her.
Lady Althea's situation is desperate. She engineers her escape, but she really has nowhere to go for safety.
In the midst of her flight, Lady Althea runs into an old childhood friend.
Lord Gareth Lynley is a soldier and, with the death of his elder brother, heir to an earldom. If he is killed at war, the family line will end. When he hears Lady Althea's story, he offers a bargain. He will wed and protect her. Hopefully, she will produce the heir he needs.
Lady Althea never wanted a marriage of convenience. But she hopes, with Lord Gareth, it just might become more.
Lady Althea is one of Ms. Buck's most interesting heroines. She overcomes the insecurity of a rotten childhood, malicious gossip, and a really bad beginning to her marriage with Lord Gareth.

Wanted to Love It, Oct 9 2011
By Joni "jonbon_14" - Published on Amazon.com
This book could have been great, but sadly fell short. It was a little bit darker than most regencies, which made it unique, and intrigued me from the beginning. It explored the fact that not all regency nobles are chivalrous, but did it in a way that relates to the 21 century. I really wanted to love this book, but I just couldn't get into it. It was well written, but it was like everything was in fast forward. There was too much plot for such a small book; everything just skimmed the surface. With that being said, it was only $4 and kept me interested.
