The thoroughness of this dictionary makes it a highly useful resource as I try to gain fluency at composing in French and reading French journals and literature.It is worlds ahead of the paperback dictionaries I have found frustrating in the past, because it contains thousands more entries, and displays all forms of a given word. Another advantage is the inclusion of several examples of each word in use, including idiomatic expressions. The book's size and weight mean that it is not particularly portable, but I now consider it indispensable for use at a desk while writing or beside my reading chair.

This is by far the best French/English, English/French dictionary I have ever read.Words and sentences are up to date. For any one doing translation, I highly recommend it Thank you.

This is truly the ultimate resource for anyone learning to speak French. I am no longer frustrated by looking up a word, only to find it is not in the dictionary, or that the particular meaning of the word in the material I am reading, is not covered. There are usually multiple examples of word usage for each word. The type face is clear and dark on bright white pages. It is slightly unwealdy at 5 inches thick and approximately 5 pounds, but well worth it and a great buy for the price. I will never have to buy another French dictionary!
